Given the market’s needs and the non-existence of tracker solutions operating on Telefónica’s Industrial IoT network bands, it was decided to develop a proprietary communications module for these bands with NB-IoT and LTE-M to facilitate its integration by a tracker manufacturer.
Thus, as this is a customised development for Telefónica, we’ve worked with different scenarios to allow us to develop a tracker to meet our clients’ needs, focusing on the frequencies of their private networks and also whether they’re going to work only indoors or in both indoor and outdoor environments.
The Remote Factory Management product is a solution created to track high-value assets, both outdoors and indoors, in industrial areas. This solution is based on a tracker that performs positioning primarily based on network positioning, as LTE and 5G cellular networks are a major accelerator of digitisation in Industry 5.0. In addition, owing to technologies such as NB-IoT and LTE-M, which are created for low power consumption and a long communication range, the tracker’s battery life is extended.
