At Telefónica Tech we have extensive experience in projects with public and private entities where, through the use of data from Telefónicas mobile network and sensorisation, the core business of our IoT business, we have been able to obtain the mobility demand in each case with great precision and granularity. Thanks to mobile network data and the insights extracted, we can characterise mobility in specific cities, provinces or corridors, and obtain information on how commuter movements occur between two points. This includes knowing the number of journeys made, the origin and destination of the trips, the purpose of the trips, the modes of transport, the routes chosen or the socio-economic profile of the traveller, information that can be essential when carrying out mobility studies, planning new routes or offering different types of services on them.
